Matt Marchel is in his second season as an assistant coach of men’s hockey at Finlandia. He was an assistant coach in 2014-15. Marchell was the head coach of women's hockey for the Lions (2016-2020).
A native of Grand Forks, N.D., Marchel played three years at UM-Crookston before transferring for his senior year at Finlandia. He scored 15 goals with 30 assists for 45 points in 92 games from the blue line during his collegiate career. Marchel played with the Cape Cod Bluefins and Broome County Barons of the Federal Hockey League.
Marchel has a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Finlandia. He resides in Hancock, Mich.
