Aaron Froelich Esports New

Aaron Froelich

Aaron Froelich has been named Director of Esports at Finlandia University.  He is set to start his duties on May 23.

Froelich has been the assistant coach of Esports at Gogebic Community College since January 2020 and was promoted to interim head coach during the spring 2022 season.  He has overseen production and media which has included creating branding and graphics, running the social media channels and operating the livestream for the Gogebic Samsons.  Froelich has led the Samsons to four NJCAA National Tournaments, winning national championships in NBA 2K and Call of Duty 4v4 in the spring 2022 season.  He has been Manager of the Dorms at Gogebic since May 2019.

Froelich is no stranger to Finlandia as he played baseball (2015-18) for the Lions.  As a senior, he was a CUNYAC-All Star and helped the Lions qualify for the CUNYAC Championships, the first post-season bid in program history.  Froelich was a team captain for two years, earned CUNYAC-All Star honors as a junior, ranked eighth in NCAA Division III for complete games (6) in 2017 and is among the top five in school history (season & career) in seven categories including second career in complete games and wins. 

Froelich has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sports Management from Finlandia.  He was a Resident Assistant in the dorms and a Student Ambassador.

Froelich was an assistant baseball coach at Finlandia in 2019.  He worked with the hitters and pitchers, helped to arrange practices and travel and helped the incoming freshmen to adjust to college life.
